New Training Manager takes the lead at AVC

AVC Media Enterprises’ Training department has strengthened its team with the appointment of Wendy Atkinson as Training Manager.

Wendy’s appointment to the training team is seen as a natural progression in her successful career, following seven years in her post as AVC’s Training and Development Advisor. Within her role as Training Manager, Wendy will be predominantly responsible for the organisation of internal and external training courses for clients, including management, media response and communication training as well as a full range of non-technical courses, from AVC’s purpose built Training and Conference Centre in Altens.

This is a welcome addition to the team who have been experiencing a steady rise in training requirements and increased interest in new and industry leading training techniques. Wendy comments on her role:

“I am delighted to have joined the training team at such a busy time. We are working to continuously develop our training courses, keeping ahead of the times and developing new and exciting courses that are both informative and enjoyable.

“My experience of internal training here at AVC has allowed me to gain essential knowledge of development and training processes, standing me in good stead for this role. Much of AVC’s success can be attributed to continuous investment in staff development and training and we have recently achieved Investors in People status for the tenth year running. The skill set here at AVC is so diverse, it has given me experience of a large range of training from top line director training, soft skill, employment law and finance, to the more unusual creative and media courses.

“As part of my role I will be offering our successful training frameworks to external clients. It’s a great opportunity to share a skills set that has worked so well internally over the years.”

Quality training is known to provide businesses with a competitive edge. Simone Barnett, Head of Communications and Development at AVC comments:

“Here at AVC we can prepare bespoke training packages to specifically suit individual business needs. We also offer a free training needs analysis to all clients, giving businesses a tailored package to specifically suit their company objectives. We only use expert personnel, giving our training a competitive edge with all important industry experience.

“Bringing Wendy into the team at such a strategic point means that we are able to increase our provision of training services and professional development. Her experience, internal training knowledge and wealth of training contacts mean our clients will receive some of the most reliable, professional training advice in the market place.”

Wendy continues:

“Organisations are increasingly aware of the need to send employees on quality training courses. By investing in its people, businesses obtain greater operational and motivational results whilst providing development opportunities and enjoyment to those taking part. We offer some pretty unique courses here at AVC and it’s always great to see participants getting the best out of our training days, knowing that AVC has helped people achieve individual goals and that I’ve contributed to that is a great feeling.”

With new and innovative training courses available at AVC, Wendy and her team are equipped to continue expanding their portfolio of courses for clients, large and small.
