As part of the marketing and promotional development of Newmachar Golf Club, AVC Immedia were approached to work on a year long project, to further enhance the enviable reputation already attached to Newmachar Golf Club.
Located on the outskirts of Aberdeen, Newmachar Golf Club is five miles from the international airport and the village of Dyce. The par 72, SS 74, Hawkshill course was designed by Dave Thomas and opened for play in 1990.
The course had been endorsed by Peter Alliss, and is regarded as one of the toughest tests of golf in Scotland. Newmacher Golf Club has already hosted major championships, including the Scottish Professional Championship and the Scottish Seniors Open.
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the golf club AVC Immedia embarked on a number of initiatives to promote the course and its facilities. This included the use of Drone camera technology to capture all 18 Holes on the Hawkshill course.
Working closely with Newmachar Golf Club and the 25th anniversary committee, AVC Immedia captured all 18 holes on the golf course in a way that demonstrated the complexity of the course, but also replicated the flight of the ball. Efforts were made to ensure that the flyovers provided more than just an aerial view of the course, but also the view of the hole as a golfer would expect to play. The final videos are now on the Newmachar Golf Club website, and have already attracted more than 15,000 views in over 75 countries worldwide.
AVC filmed our Hawkshill course using a drone in 2015. We have had nothing but positive feedback from both members and visitors since we added fly-through videos of each hole to our website. The number of people, from all over the world, visiting our website has increased dramatically, and we have seen an increase in the number of visitor bookings.
