National Skills Week
the client
the brief

Supporting OPITO for more than four years, we were appointed to assist the organisation with their first ever National Oil and Gas Skills Week. The event, created to showcase a range of career pathways and highlight new industry prospects, required a new brand identity which would work alongside the existing OPITO brand. Our design team was required to support OPITO in a series of design work including brand strategy, press and digital marketing, advertising and website development.

our solution

Through consultation with OPITO, our design team was able to develop a brand identity that successfully communicated the event’s vision. With a strategic brand plan, our team developed a logo, logo variants, a colour palette and type specifications. We also created a brand stylesheet and brand guidelines, all designed to allow flexibility for any future brand development. All branding was designed to be transparent for use in a range of internal and external resources.

With the brand guidelines in place we were then able to build the foundations for a wide range of advertising work, to help generate awareness of the event and strategically target their key audience. Our design team also supported OPITO in developing key messages to carefully and effectively target specific audiences and stakeholders. Designs were run in a series of press advertisements and outdoor advertising platforms leading up to the event.

We then supported OPITO in building a digital presence through the development of an event-based website. When creating the website our designers and developers carefully considered the new brand, the display of key messages, the navigation and the content structure. The final website can now be accessed on all devices and has an easy-to-navigate layout allowing users to find key information easily.

Lastly, our team helped OPITO with the design of an exhibition stand to be used at key oil and gas events. Designed in line with their new brand identity, the stand helped OPITO to build their exhibition presence and was made portable for use at other exhibition events.
