Edinburgh First Stop for AVC’s Expanding Advertising Arm

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Aberdeen-based AVC Media Enterprises has strengthened its advertising arm, AVC Brand Advertising, opening a new facility in Edinburgh to service its growing number of clients in Lothian and the Central Belt.

AVC Advertising was formed one year ago and has already brought in more than £500,000 from a standing start. Having merged with Dundee based Precision Media six months ago the company most recently purchased Brand Advertising to form the wholly owned subsidiary of AVC Media Enterprises, AVC Brand Advertising, which is on course to turnover £3million in its first year.

With a growing client base in Edinburgh and Lothian, AVC has opened its new facility in Leith to offer a face to face service for media planning and buying as well as the associated creative requirements offered from a full service agency.

With AVC’s headquarters remaining in Aberdeen, Philippa Quinn has joined the company to develop business out with the North East and manage the company’s growing number of clients.

Philippa joins AVC from Edinburgh-based Emap, where she managed the media planning for a number of blue chip accounts including Chatham Honda/Skoda, Edinburgh Woollen Mills and Stewart Milne. Before this she spent time with Radio Forth and Scottish Radio Holdings.

Philippa comments: “I’m really looking forward to working with the team at AVC. It’s great to be involved in something completely new. AVC has so much to offer clients that I’m sure we will quickly add to the existing client base in Edinburgh and Lothian.”

Spencer Buchan, Director of AVC and AVC Brand Advertising comments: “We already have 18 clients in Edinburgh and Lothian. The natural step was to service those clients from a central location, offering client contact only a stone’s throw from their business. We’ve done a great job from our Aberdeen HQ but now we’ll be on hand permanently to offer a face to face service for our clients.”

While media planning and buying will be the lead service offered from the Edinburgh office, clients will have ready access to the wide range of corporate communication services provided by AVC.
