AVC Appointed for Promotional City and Shire Campaign

Following a competitive tendering process, Aberdeen-based media and communications agency AVC Media Enterprises has been awarded a contract to develop a picture of what Aberdeen City and Shire will look like in 2030.

The campaign is being driven through joint working of Aberdeen City and Shire Councils, Nestrans (the regional transport partnership), ACSEF (Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future) and the SDPA (Strategic Development Planning Authority).

The marketing campaign will join up the key strategies that focus on the future economic prosperity of the region, including transport, growth and economic development.

The strategy will promote and visualise the area as a place to live, learn, visit, explore, invest and achieve and will span the next 20 years, up to 2030. The campaign will aim to capture the imagination of the target audiences, inspire visions of what the city and shire could look like; developing and encouraging feedback, support and contributions to the overall vision from those living, working and visiting the region so that residents, businesses and investors in the area can see what it will look like in 2030.

Working closely with the partners, AVC will develop the strategic document detailing the Partnership’s visions for the future and conveying the inventiveness, ambition and innovation associated with the city and its residents.

Spencer Buchan, Managing Director, AVC Creative said, “AVC is very pleased to have secured this contract, working with the partners to achieve the core aim of the campaign. As an Aberdeen based company we recognise the importance of attracting inward investment and talent to the region for the future growth and development of the city and shire. Aberdeen City and Shire has so much to offer in terms of its credentials as a business hub, as well as residentially, socially and culturally. AVC is extremely focused on delivering a dynamic and positive vision for the future and communicating this to the key audiences.”

Rita Stephen, Development Manager for ACSEF explained, “This is about bringing together a single, inspirational vision for Aberdeen City and Shire and making best use of the resources we have available to us. We believe that the region has a strong future and this campaign will help to sell this message and attract new investment to the area.”
