After months of hard work, endless training, tears and pain Sarah Bremner, Senior Account Manager at AVC, is delighted to be taking a well deserved rest after completing the New York Marathon this month for both The Archie Foundation and Dreams Come True.
Hailed as the “world's great road race”, Sarah joined the 35 member strong running group “Archie’s Dream Team” on the 26 .2 mile run, which saw her pass through 5 city boroughs and see famous landmarks such The Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park. The group’s endeavors paid off when the final fundraising total was announced at a staggering £206,000!
Sarah Bremner tells us more “I can’t even begin to tell you how delighted I am with the money we raised for the two charities.”
“This was my first marathon so I was feeling very apprehensive, however the energy and enthusiasm by the Archie Dream Team runners on the day was electric. We all knew we had to do our best for both charities, one of the runners in our team even broke his foot at the 8th mile and finished the race!”
“The best news of all was finding out the money we raised will pay for a specialist nurse at Archie for a full year, and also contribute towards the development of a brand new health service for every child in Grampian who has Cerebral Palsy. It really put into perspective the difference the money we raised will make”
“I must have been bitten by the marathon bug because I have crazily signed up to do the Berlin Marathon next September. Let the training commence!”
