Media student at The Robert Gordon University, Victoria Harazim, was awarded with the accolade of ‘Best Year 3 Media Student’ at the annual RGU Communications and Media Prize Giving Ceremony, which was held at the Aberdeen Business School on Friday 15th July 2011.

The ceremony recognised both undergraduate and postgraduate communications and media students who have excelled academically throughout the duration of their course, with all winning students being selected by a panel from the Business School.

The award was presented to Victoria by Jamie Baikie, production manager, at integrated media and communications agency and award sponsor, AVC Media Enterprises. In recognition of her success, Victoria will be given a 6 week placement with AVC to gain hands on experience and an insight into what a career in the media and communications industry would be like.

Jamie said, “AVC has a long established association with The Robert Gordon University, and has been involved with the Prize Giving Ceremony for the last three years by sponsoring the best year 3 media student. We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to further support the initiative, which we feel is vital in providing recognition and aiding the development of our future industry leaders."

Rita Marcella, dean of RGU Aberdeen Business School, spoke about the importance of the awards, “AVC continues to provide excellent placements for our students and have been very supportive of our Communication and Media prize giving. Many of our graduates have gone on to excellent careers with them.”
