Project: Shell Production Conference
Summary: AVC helped to deliver a highly successful and memorable event and the client has also continued with the same style of virtual event for several conferences in the last two years, due to the success of the event.
Shell Production Conference in Aberdeen and Assen. The event was to be held over two days and attended by around 300 people each day over the two locations. The brief from the client was to create a virtual event using a video link between the two venues to give the delegates the feeling of being together, even though they were in separate locations and different countries.
AVC was tasked with the technical planning, stage and venue design and decor, installation, operation and technical management for the events. Planning meetings were held in each of the venues along with local support teams to establish the room layouts and event design options. Regular face to face meetings were also held in the client’s local office and via teleconference to European locations, with the updates communicated through our project documentation and distributed to key contacts. At strategic points along the planning process, face to face meetings were held with supplier’s onsite at the venue, with updates and detailed explanations of meetings and proposed activities documented and circulated to the project team.

AVC worked alongside Shell once again in March 2009, this time linking Aberdeen with two locations in Norway and Holland. The event was held over two days and attended by around 250 people each day over the three locations.
