Project: Trend Awards 2009
Summary: The primary objective to AVC was to deliver an event that had the feel of an awards ceremony similar to those seen on television to celebrate music, film and TV successes, but on a smaller scale.
The client wanted to hold an event to celebrate its first year by announcing a glamorous new awards initiative to showcase the exceptional talent that contributes to all that’s exciting in life in the North-east of Scotland.
Meetings were held with the client to establish their expectations in regards to event format, venue layout, décor and theme.
The primary objective to AVC was to deliver an event that had the feel of an awards ceremony similar to those seen on television to celebrate music, film and TV successes, but on a smaller scale. The event was to be held in one of Aberdeen’s most prestigious venues with over 300 people attending the event and AVC were given the challenge of making the venue look even more dramatic than it already did, giving it a “glitzy” appearance to match the theme of the event.
AVC designed a stage set, which included an RGB colour-mix star cloth backdrop along with stylish lecterns and award displays and visual presentations were shown on plasma screens situated throughout the room. The main room décor was created through the use of coloured LED lighting, with the room colour changing at key points in the event – signifying a change in the programme or to draw the audience’s attention to the main stage.
All the action on stage was filmed and relayed to the screens and we enhanced the awards feel by capturing winners live on camera as they moved towards stage to collect their awards. This was further enhanced by the use of pre-selected music and lighting effects to energise the room as they made their way through the audience.
The event proved to be hugely successful with excellent feedback from attendees and the organisers on the vibrant look in the room and AVC’s professional event production.
