Gilcomston Church Large screen projection system

Project: Gilcomston Church Large screen projection system
Summary: AVC designed a projection system with various key elements. These included a 14ft wide fixed frame screen on a motorised winch system which allowed the screen to be raised into the eaves when not in use.

Background

It is the Church of Scotland's parish church for this area of Aberdeen city centre.

The Church Committee approached AVC with a view to providing a large screen projection system.

Summary

The AVC team worked closely with the Church Committee to determine their requirements.

The projection system had to delivery high quality visuals for the display of Hymns and visuals, and needed to be flexible enough to be removed from the vicinity of the pulpit when not in use. The chosen system also had to be discreet enough to prevent it looking out of place in the church, with AVC having to take into account the style and character of the surroundings when considering the most suitable solution.

AVC designed a projection system with various key elements. These included a 14ft wide fixed frame screen on a motorised winch system which allowed the screen to be raised into the eaves when not in use.  This provided both the viewing quality and flexibility required.

Additionally, to ensure the system was discrete, the AVC team installed a high brightness projector at a high level at the back of the church with a long throw lens allowing the 18m throw distance.  This provided the discretion required without diluting the picture quality.

All of the installation was undertaken by AVC and the Client was delighted with the system.
