Project: Cornerstone - 2009 Annual Report
Summary: The brief was to create a report that had a strong corporate look with a positive, engaging and ‘fun’ feel while retaining the values of a financial document.
Cornerstone is a national charity, providing care and support in communities to enable children, young people and adults with disabilities and other support needs to enjoy a valued life. AVC Creative was appointed by Cornerstone to carry out the design and production of their annual report.
The brief was to create a report that had a strong corporate look with a positive, engaging and ‘fun’ feel while retaining the values of a financial document.
The design is in keeping with their brand guidelines, applying the Cornerstone corporate colours throughout and using large areas of bold colour along with carefully chosen images that reflect and underpin the charities work. The cover design shows volunteers, Cornerstone staff and some of those that they support joining in one group to re-create the star from the Cornerstone logo. This puts extra emphasis on the charity logo and indicates a strong team image and vast support network.
Fact, figures and graphs were customised to fit in with the brightly coloured environment while still presenting them in a factual and clear manner. Testimonials and case studies were shown in a handwritten typeface to create a more personal touch and reinforce within the readers mind that they were the thoughts of the people they actually support.
