Project: KCA DEUTAG “Our Way” – Corporate Culture Film
Summary: KCA DEUTAG had a need to communicate a common corporate culture which could be valued, shared and practiced by all of its people, around the world, all of the time.  The company commissioned AVC to create a film to support this objective.

Background

KCA DEUTAG is one of the world’s leading drilling contractors. Headquartered in Aberdeen and employing over 8,000 people, they operate in more than 20 countries around the world.

In order to achieve its mission of becoming the preferred drilling contractor through measurable performance improvement, KCA DEUTAG had a need to communicate a common corporate culture which could be valued, shared and practiced by all of its people, around the world, all of the time.  The company commissioned AVC to create a film to support this objective.

Summary

Working closely with KCA DEUTAG, the media team at AVC created an informative and inspiring film based around KCA DEUTAG’s 5 Core Values.  The aim of the film was to explain and demonstrate the organisation’s corporate culture in  order to encourage  employees to embrace and implement it.  It also had to generate a sense of harmony and uniformity, emphasising that the ‘KCA DEUTAG Way’ was the same for everyone.

The production was filmed on XDCAM HD and shot over a 2 month period onshore and offshore in Aberdeen, Angola, Dubai, Oman, Russia and the Arctic Circle.  KCA DEUTAG employees delivered the key messages, using a combination of off-camera interviews and image-driven narration, by providing a brief but compelling insight into their working life and how they lived the 5 Values.

Recognising the geographical and cultural diversity of the audience, subtitled versions of the film were also produced in English, Arabic, German, Norwegian and Russian.

KCA DEUTAG was delighted with the result, describing it as an “excellent production which will have many uses in the coming years”
