Oil & Gas UK DVD - Next Generation

Project: Oil & Gas UK DVD – “Next Generation”
Summary: AVC Media were commissioned to produce a short film to kick off the Oil & Gas UK Next Generation conference and set the scene for discussions throughout the day.

Background

Oil & Gas UK represents the UK offshore oil and gas industry. They work closely with companies across the entire sector, governments and all other stakeholders to address the issues that affect business.

The Oil & Gas UK Next Generation Conference provides a platform for people in the early stages of their career, from across a range of disciplines, to gather and debate the next generation’s views and expectations on current and emerging issues facing the industry.

AVC Media were commissioned to produce a short film to kick off the conference and set the scene for discussions throughout the day.

Summary

The media team at AVC worked closely with Oil & Gas UK to understand their aims and objectives. The film had to include young professionals, be thought provoking, inspiring, energetic, and highlight five key discussion topics: “Industry overview”, “Our Health and Safety”, “Our Environment”, “Our Industry” and “Staying Competitive”.

AVC combined library footage with newly shot material to create the film.  To help communicate the discussion topics, 25 A3 boards were produced containing relevant messages and AVC filmed key individuals from the UK and offshore holding these.  The resultant film was four minutes in length and had as its soundtrack, the energetic and dynamic commercial music track, ‘I thought it was over’ by The Feeling.

Testimonial

Oil & Gas UK were delighted with the film as outlined by Stacey Hopkin, Events Executive “AVC has a great team and the support we received was excellent. Without your vision and expertise, the DVD would not have been the success it was”. The film was also commented on by Wayne Hemmingway, a leading design guru who attended the Conference, "Boy have I had to sit through some awful DVD pap in my time...but that one was really good!"
