Gordon Craig, Managing Director of Innovator Sports contacted AVC to ask for assistance with the launch of Scotland’s first Platinum Group Coaching Scheme in association with Coerver Coaching, Adidas and Zoned in Performance.
Innovator Sports wanted to host an official launch event to attract the Scottish media and make them aware of the scheme and what it does. Professional mentor, John Collins, ex-Hibernian manager and Scotland International player was also keen to express that it might be down to poor coaching that Scotland again failed to make the World Cup in 2010.
AVC organised a launch event to be held at the Toryglen Recreational Football Centre, near Hampden on the 4th June. An extensive media list was then devised by AVC to cover all national press, television and radio, including specialist football and sport publications. AVC then issued a media invite six days prior to the event to these lists which briefly outlined the event, giving the media plenty of time to arrange crew schedules for the day. AVC then followed up on these to gauge attendance for the event.
A suggested schedule was devised to enable a smooth running order for the event and 25 media packs put together. These packs provided further detailed information on the event and its associated companies and were issued to the press who attended.
AVC successfully achieved a high press attendance on the day, gaining extensive coverage across the whole country. For those who were unable to attend the event, AVC drafted up a media release which emphasised the importance of nurturing Scotland’s talent and issued this with accompanying photography.
