Supervisory Skills

 

Summary

This course is designed for individuals preparing to take up a supervisory or management role in the near future, someone newly promoted into the role of managing people or an experienced manager who has had no formal training.

Delegates will be given the opportunity to reflect on their own style, reinforcing what is already being done well and introducing a range of theories, tools and techniques that underpin successful management.

Course Objectives

To help delegates make the transition to their management/supervisory role and deal with the challenge of supervising staff.

To gain a clear vision of the role together with a strong understanding of when and how different approaches and styles are required for a positive outcome.

  • Understanding the role & responsibilities of a manager/supervisor
  • Understand the importance of communication
  • Consider the art of feedback
  • Strategy to address a dip in performance
  • Know what motivates themselves and others
  • Delegate effectively whilst developing staff
